Galia Eibenschutz's residency proposed experiences that stimulate perception, the need for leisure and rest, awareness and security from the body, relaxation from movement and empathy towards non-human forms. During the sessions, body improvisation and drawing activities were developed in relation to plants, the land where they grow and the animals that inhabit different ecosystems. The residency included improvisation exercises, shadow theater, impersonations of different organisms, creation of masks and costumes, and drawing silhouettes. As a culmination of the residency, Galia presents a performance that responds to the encounters and exchanges with the children, in collaboration with musician Nicolás García Lieberman.

INDICATORS AND OBSERVATIONS:

  • The artistic sessions designed by the artist began with play and movement using the whole body, allowing organization, to then work on relaxation leading to a better performance in the artistic processes.

  • The residency was designed so that the first part of each workshop would focus on gross psychomotor skills based on body and energy activities, and then move on to fine psychomotor activities such as painting, drawing and representation.

  • Unlike previous years, the current generation of children is concentrated in the 4 and 5 years of age, which results in a substantial change in the design of activities.

  • From the diagnostics carried out and the first four sessions of the residency, cases of violence and low level of development in language and social tools have been detected, which will be followed up through the following sessions and residencies.
